Beware of Northern Elite Van Line moving company! Terrible Service and Unethical Practices

I recently hired Northern Elite Van Line moving company for my move, and it was an absolute nightmare. Let me break down the issues I encountered:

Overcharging Based on Estimate, Not Actual Space Size: Despite providing a letter from my storage company confirming the square footage of my rental space, Northern Elite Van Line moving company insisted on charging me double based on their initial estimate. They claimed that because I signed the estimate, I had to pay regardless of the actual storage space size. This is unacceptable and deceptive.

Blocking the Street and Verbally Abusing Neighbors: When the movers arrived, they complained about cars passing by and intentionally backed up the moving truck to block the entire entrance to the street. Neighbors were unable to enter or exit, and when confronted, the driver responded with profanity and aggression. This behavior is completely unprofessional and disrespectful.

Damaged Furniture and Lack of Accountability: To top it off, the movers broke my headboard during the move. When I asked what we should do about it, one of them callously replied, “You buy a new one.” No accountability, no remorse—just a dismissive attitude.

Conclusion: I strongly advise against using Northern Elite Van Line moving company. Their unethical practices, unprofessional behavior, and lack of accountability make them a terrible choice for anyone seeking a stress-free move. Also Jennifer in the office was an absolute nightmare to deal with. As she was VERY rude and unprofessional and that's only when you could actually get a response from her. Save yourself the headache and look elsewhere.

Best relocation experience from NJ to NYC I have ever had! Worth every penny! This team were total professionals movers. They arrived on time, worked quickly, and communicated with me every step of the way. I had a lot of boxes and some big pieces of furniture, but they managed to get everything down 3 flights of stairs and up 6 more flights. I was very impressed! I highly recommend Northern Elite Van Lines for all of your moving needs, and know that you're in good hands.

We moved with Northern Elite Van Lines from a ground floor apartment to a 6th floor elevator building and we had the best experience. The guys were on time, professional and worked efficiently. They took great care to pack our belongings in the moving truck and make sure that everything was properly strapped and secured in the truck for the hour drive on the expressway. Not one item was scratched or broken. When we move again we will absolutely use Northern Elite Van Lines again.

I have used Northern World class Van Lines two times presently, most as of late last end of the week to move from NJ to New York City. They were sensational the twice. I can't suggest them more. They stacked up my whole room - what might be compared to a studio apartment - in one hour and unloaded it in a similar measure of time. Everything is exceptionally straight forward and simple with them - there were no secret charges. They showed up quickly at 9am straightaway to begin the move. Each of the three of the movers were extremely kind and conscious.

I have used Northern Elite Van Lines twice now, most recently last weekend to move from FL to NY. They were phenomenal both times. I can't recommend them more. They loaded up my entire room - the equivalent of a studio apartment - in one hour and unloaded it in the same amount of time. Everything is very straight forward and easy with them - there were no hidden charges. They arrived promptly at 9am on the dot to start the move. All three of the movers were very kind and respectful.

Upon delivery day, the driver must have called me to let me know that he was running late at least three or four times. And this was after he called me every other day weeks prior saying the delivery would be postponed. I understood there was a window and not everything is going to be exactly on the dot but I reserved a storage unit and they canceled on me several times and then raised my rate because the delivery kept changing. My scheduled delivery was January 28 and I received my things February 23-that’s a big window. Back to the delivery driver-his excuse for being late was that his partner fell off the truck and broke his leg and that is why he showed up alone with a young boy, probably his son, who didn’t even look old enough to be working age. When my things were originally picked up, they had a crew of maybe five or six people and they were pretty efficient and worked very quickly. This man now was by himself and had to move my things alone so I asked him where the rest of the crew was and he again told me that his partner fell off the truck and broke his leg. He then complained over and over again about how my unit was on the second floor when there was an elevator and I also explained when I booked everything. He had me assisting him with moving things and holding doors open. I mean why did I pay a moving company if I was to be put to work? He asked me several times if anyone was meeting me which I should have had someone with me, but I did not. He asked me many times if I had a boyfriend. He then hustled me for an extra $150 and made me go to the bank and get it or else he was going to drive away with my things. At this point I just wanted my stuff so I paid him. He also tried to get an additional 150 out of me claiming the entrance was not within the correct footage which is completely wrong. I was there earlier with the manager of the unit and we measured and also they have moves with 18 wheelers and big, moving companies every single day and there’s never an issue he was just trying to hustle me. He kept complaining and complaining the entire time about how long the move was going to take him, and that he had other things to do. Meanwhile, there was no one else’s stuff on the truck. I seem to have been the last stop. He packed the elevator with my belongings and asked me to step inside the elevator with him I said no thank you I can wait for the next elevator and he kept saying why are you scared? What do you think I’m gonna do to you? By the way, it was about four hours of his sexual comments and abuse. Upon noticing that a few items were damaged, he told me to write down on the slip what was damaged and to text the person who set up the delivery. When it came time to sign the papers, he went back in the truck and moved it in front of the security camera. This is where the manager came out and asked me if I was OK because he wanted to know why he needed to move the truck. I stood purposefully in front of the main entrance and said let’s sign the paperwork here he said no come with me. He started walking away where the truck was blocking the camera. At that point, I said no we’re signing over here. I don’t know what he was up to or what he was intending, but it was really disgusting how I was treated and if I was there with someone else, I highly doubt he would’ve acted that way.

Extremely supportive movers. Simple to book and timetable, they had a basic expense structure that hurried up to set up the move. I very much wanted having a basic level rate to a mind boggling statement coordinate - there's sufficient to do with essentially pressing I maintained that my booking should be straight forward. Northern Elite Van Lines was extremely obliging towards demands like changing the day of my booking and mentioning a plastic cover for my bedding. Upon the arrival of the move I got a call around 20 minutes before my booked time letting me know they were coming. The movers were all cordial and supportive and got everything moved quickly. I would recommend Northern Elite Van Lines movers to anybody.

I had a great experience with Northern Elite Van Lines. They were the quickest to respond & the most reasonably priced out of all my quotes. I was a little worried about an hourly price, but this team were SO QUICK and EFFICIENT. Definitely a better deal for me than a flat fee would have been. I don't know how they were able to carry 3 of my bins at a time up and down 2 flights of stairs, but they did!! Everything was carefully wrapped and every charge explained. Ended up being exactly what was quoted from the start, and all my things arrived safely. Would absolutely use them again!

Great movers and very impressive customers service. They were awake and packed my items with care. We've moved a lot in the last 5 years but we had terrible experiences with movers, so we were very worried but this company was really ensured that everything went smoothly. On the moving day. They worked so hard to wrap and unwrap everything carefully, we didn't have a single thing. They were able to move our big and heavy things out through the balcony, without any scratches.

I recently used Northern Elite Van Lines for my long-distance move from a 5-bedroom home, and I cannot say enough good things about the experience! From start to finish, everything was handled with professionalism, honesty, and care.

My sales rep Clark was incredible—he took the time to explain every detail of the process, answered all my questions patiently, and made me feel completely at ease. He was transparent about pricing, timelines, and what to expect, and everything went exactly as planned.

The movers were punctual, careful with our furniture and boxes, and extremely efficient. They wrapped and protected everything with care, especially the fragile and oversized items. The delivery was right on time, and not a single item was damaged.

I don’t normally write reviews, but after the incredible experience I had with Northern Elite Van Lines, and especially with my sales rep Sam, I felt compelled to share. Moving a 5-bedroom home across state lines is no small job, and like most people, I was stressed out, overwhelmed, and honestly didn’t know where to start. That all changed the minute I spoke with Sam.

From our very first conversation, Sam was honest, knowledgeable, and extremely patient. He didn’t rush me, didn’t give me a hard sales pitch instead, he took the time to actually listen to what I needed, explain the process clearly, and walk me through every single detail. He gave me a realistic timeline, broke down all the costs with complete transparency, and even shared tips on how to prep my home efficiently before moving day. I’ve dealt with other companies before that made empty promises or hit me with surprise charges — this was nothing like that.

We have moved many times in the last three years. They has delivered by far the great service I've ever seen. They worked so fast and they were all so nice. Everything was perfect where I needed it. They even moved stuff around when I changed our mind about how I wanted it set up. Throughout the whole was great. They handled our furniture and belongings with the extreme care and attention to detail. Their method of protecting our items was truly impressive. Highly recommended.

A great moving company. The team arrived on time and They packed my items quickly and efficiently. They wrapped some things in plastic to prevent damages. They were wonderful and it was absolutely beneficial the time and money. Wonderful business to work with, and the small problems were taken care of quickly. They moved things a few times in our master bedroom to make things perfect. Great customer service. We do not know where they got such a nice guys. Highly recommended.
